Thanks for all the tips! I’m planning on starting up a small team this summer, and I have a question about bankroll management. Should your betting amounts be reavaluated after each playing session or after certain thresholds are reached? Suppose you start with, $1000 and your min bet is $2. If you lose $500, do you stick with the plan or adjust your betting accordingly (i.e. reduce to $1 min bet). I’m pretty sure I understand the pros and cons of both, I’m just wondering what you guys have done in the past.
Kevin,
When we first started, we used to adjust our betting each week. But that’s kind of a lot of work. We then changed it that if we were up or down a certain amount, like 20%, we’d adjust the bankroll.
But remember, with a smaller bankroll, the lower the minimum bet, the better! It’ll save you EV. Wonging in is even better with a small bankroll, because you don’t want to play any negative EV hands if you don’t have to!
