I realize this may be mentioned somewhere else, but I’m curious what dollar amount you recommend to get started with? I figure you need enough to ride out any losses, so what would a good starting place be? Thanks!

That’s a really tough question to answer. The short answer is: the more, the better. Assuming you train until you have a perfect game (which should not be taken lightly), the more money you have to start with, the better chance of not running out of money during losing streaks and the more EV you will be able to generate, thus making it more worth your time.
That being said, both Ben and I started with small amounts. I know there was some luck involved early on. We also were fortunate to have lots of low limit games around to play at. But it’s hard to say, “you need 10K to get started,” since neither Ben nor I had anything close to that amount initially.
Sorry there isn’t an easier answer. (=
