I downloaded the BJA_BSH17 PDF but can not find the Stay17 chart on there? Please help! Thank You so much I will hopefully be attending a bootcamp soon
Brettyb,
All the charts should be good to download from this page: http://www.blackjackapprenticeship.com/resources/charts/
No S17 chart on that site. I have an old version, but I think there either was an error or a difference of opinion with other charts. The part in question is –
Your hand – 9
Dealer’s Upcard – 3
Now the BJA chart I have from a while ago says to HIT, while other charts from other well-known sites state to DOUBLE.
So, I am confused. What should it be? And when are you going to add S17 chart back to the site?
Thanks
hi! I think you have a very well designed and resourceful website. Thanks for sharing with everyone!
Basic Strategy for a 9 vs 3 is to double. The chart that is available through the website under Resources will reflect this. You can also find deviation charts for both Hit and Stand 17 games there as well.
May I know what does the “insurance index = 3″ on the top part of the chart means? thanks!
Hi there have taken in everything you have on these videos. I have learned basic strategy and play on verite regular. It appears that the dealer stil has an advantage and im only winning 42%. Why is this? cheers. Shaun
Shaun, that’s a pretty broad question. Hit us up in the forums and we can answer more specific questions.
I don’t understand why when you have for example 13 and dealer’s face up card is from 2 to 6 you have to stand.
Dany – all of the decisions we make are based off of simulations that replicate billions of hands of blackjack. We do it because that is the correct move that will give us the highest advantage according to those simulations.
Hey, thanks for all of your help. Keep it up, thinking about upgrading to premium any day now ^^
hey, do u also stick to the basic strategy if u already have 4 or 5 cards? it seems to be wrong if you have a 2,5,5,A,A to hit again. thanks for your help
wolfi,
Yep! You always follow basic strategy, regardless of the number of cards. If you had 2,2,2,2,2,2,A,A,A against a 10, you’d still hit. I know it feels crazy, but remember, the shoe has no memory. It doesn’t know if you have a 2 card 15 or a 9 card 15.
